Called into Dream Machines yesterday just because I was passing and wanted to look at the cars. Went to leave and it wouldn't start.
All whilst I was talking to the service manager!. Aha, I said, seem to have the hot start problem here. Too right he said, open the bonnet to let it cool, have a cuppa and we'll book it in for a new starter motor.
Twenty minutes later it burst into life leaving me free to roar off through Heathfield! The thing is, it's only done it once before on a really hot day about 7/8 months ago, so if it had happened elsewhere I would probably not been able to reproduce the fault for them.
The beauty is, still got about 6 weeks left in warranty.
How lucky is that!

If it was the infamous hot start problem, shirley a cheaper option would have been to fit the ModWise HS Kit?

Could also be the imobiliser. I had my starter motor mired out of the imobiliser loop and never had the hot start since.

IMO sorting out the wiring deficiency with the cheap as chips Modwise kit (or DIY) is highly preferable to fitting a new starter motor every couple of months.
