Yes, at 2:30, the Tiv broke down.

After joining M54 I got a screen full of water, just like rain and then after a few seconds it stopped.

Bulk head then got very hot, water temp went mad, oil rose to 88 and I was off at the next junction and stopped before you could say warped cylinder head.

Turn off engine. Steam. Lots of it.

Open bonnet to see a huge steam jet escaping from off side rubber radiator hose and a lake beneath!

Phone calls in order:

Home: "I've broken down"
TVR Power: "I've broken down"
Recovery: "I've broken down"

So, 15 mins after call, low loader arrives and the Tiv is recovered to TVR Power: split hose diagnosed, they'll fix it on Monday morning, here are the keys to Dom's Astra for the weekend and I'm back home in Chester by 6:30.

So, yes, there is some nice scenery along the M6 after all...

Bugger! Sorry to hear that Paul, I hope it's just the split hose that needs replacing - I assume your T350's still under warranty from Power?

Did you offend him ??

I picked up my car (with new clutch) this afternoon and he told me he's got an Audi Quattro as a courtesy car - You've been stiffed

Maybe it's 'cos I gave him £1100

Good luck

Don't knock the Astra! It got me home to Chester after giving Dom 1hrs notice!

Anyway, It's a classic!

Vauxhall's finest: a '98 2.5 V6 SRI.

I'm sure Dom gives it me on purpose so I appreciate the Tiv even more when I get it back...

Sorry to hear news. If anyone's checking their coolant pipes, my nearside one was rubbing on a plastic bracket on the fan surround, so I took a minute to cut the shoulder of the bracket off with a mini hacksaw, just in case.

Got the Tiv back this pm.

Nice U shaped split in rubber hose.

1st out of warranty failure and, I doubt the last.

Didn't you just have a big chunk of engine work? Sounds like something got streched too far during the works?

Don't you have the TVR wear and tear warranty? (or is it that you do and its crap?).

I'm still running with the old warranty so the engine was until Sept but is now until December due to the rebuild

I kinda convinced myself before hand that it wouldn't be covered as I have seen the engine bays of many a Tiv at TVR Power with the same hose still connected to the rad and metal pipe untouched.

Anyone else gone for the £1200+ Power warranty?

I will be going for the warranty - to start when I pick my car up (whenever that is).
