Whats the story with the OPC/dealer? They've told me I can't refurb my RS alloys. Were you told similar?

Morning. Ref OPC I was told, no sir we can't source you any bolts, refurb work, they weren't interested. BBS refused to talk to me saying a wheel is a safety component, talk to your OPC, and around we go again......I ended up talking to Jasmine about the specs and the replacement bolts ( I needed 2) came from Porshapart.

Kev

did you do the refurb yourself? ie, respray, lacquer etc etc?

John,

I only refurbed the outer rim, and the inside, I didn't refurb the centre piece, only tidied it up.
I originally lacquered the rim, but wasn't satisfied with the finish, the lacquer was a professional part from my local paint finishers, Gramic in Colchester.
However I couldn't get the finish I wanted, and after much mental rangling and then seeing the split rims recently finished on Pistonheads the other day I decided just to leave them polished, they'll only require refurbing agin in 3-4 years anyway as there's no finish on the mating parts....
I suppose it took me a day and a half each wheel, all by hand wet and dry then body rubbing compound with steel wool, finshing with Autosol....

Kevin.
