Sounds unusual numbering for a relay?
Is there a little picture on it somewhere? that may give you some idea of where they go.
Normally if you look at the 4 pins you find the switch wires go opposite to the load wires. So if switch is north/south the load will be east/west as you look at it.

Basically the switching goes on 1 and 2 and the load is connected to 5 with the main power coming into +3
