I am as of this morning now insured with Mannings at a very reasonable £585 incl Euro cover and track day cover. Thats 1st time insurer with no NCB to speak of as for the past 12 years Ive always insured my TVRs on my dad's policy with me as a named driver. At last, my own insurance. Mannings used my company car NCB allowance and speaking to the chap on the other end of the phone was a pleasant experience Always felt that DL were trying to shaft me for something (they didnt, but you know the feeling) and the charge for Euro cover for Le Mans was the last straw.

DL are not letting me go easily though. Making it a right pain just to cancel my old policy. In fact, Im having to tell them that we have sold the car to hopefully get a full balance refund, otherwise they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee

At last Ive got insurance in my own name. For years insurers kept saying...oooh, wait till you're 21, oooh 25..oooh 30.... oooh 35. You get the picture.

Im not a number, Im a free man

Bloody spoilsport

Good quote. Mine is unlimited mileage and (I think, need to check) commuting to work. My quote from A Plan was s;ightly more than Mannings but didnt IIRC incl track day cover, and as I did Brands last month, insurance for which cost me £140 per track day, I didnt think it was too bad

You must live in the Outer Hebbredies(sp?)?

It is very very low risk - I work in IT in ins and know the post code is very low risk, wife is on policy. I did have 1 claim though back in 04 when an invisible dark green bollard hit my bmw in a waitrose car park. Shouldnt have claimed at £750.

Ahh, you have them in Essex too? My wife sees them (actually should be 'cant' see them) in Sussex (and it was an Audi, not wanting to split hairs )
