Hello all, well went to a TVR garage today and spent about an hour chatting to the salesman, who seemed very frank and honest...

Anyway, he suggested that a chimeara is the way to go, and I had a look at a few he had for sale.

So, then I went out in a 5 ltr Chimeara, and what a fabulous car!!!

The thing is, what is the best version to go for, the 4.0, 4.5 or 5.0?

Now I know the 5.0 is the quickest, but what about reliability?

Thanks

Lee

PS, off to the USA soon for six weeks, but hope to buy a Chim on my return!!

I drive a 4.0 and use it every day. I have been told that the 5.0 are a bit more fragile but I think it depends on how its treated.

I have a 500 so maybe I'm biased but I really don't think there's any difference in reliability between the engines. In theory the 500 will be less stressed and so would be more reliable...

Similarly I don't think there's that much difference in performance. General advise is that you should just buy the one that feels best to you.

I don't any reason for the reliability to suffer, but the bigger engined cars are significantly quicker than the smaller ones. Having said that, you get fast and slow examples of each.

Thanks for that, reckon it may well have to be a 5 litre one then!
