How to stick a third break light?

My rear windsreeen shattered whilst my 993 was sat in the sunlight last week. Very odd!
The new screen has been fitted but my third break light mounted on the top of the rear screen has not taken. Anyone any ideas about what I should use to re-apply it? (A specialist reifitted it but it's not taken) Do I need to take the roof spoiler apart and just stick the mountings down or can I save the bother and re-stick the whole lot and leave it a good few days to set?

Any ideas gratefully received. If it's a really fiddly job I may need to take it in somewhere but hopefully I can do it at home!

Mine recently unstuck itself. I just used arroldite* around where the sticky pad used to be.

DONT use super glue. the screen will smash on contact. seriously.

Where do I get it from. Halfords?

You need to get the special glass glue which I believe is available from halfords. Just make sure your glass is clean before you start. Rubbing it down with a vinegar solution will take off any grime.

Thanks chaps. Off to halfords tomorrow. New sports exhaust fitted but can't use the beast whilst the spoiler/break light is hanging off!!

So rub the window down with a vinegar solution (water & vinegar I presume?) then clean the fitment on the spoiler and apply the window glue. 'Stick' the spolier to the window and then leave it for a while.

I used Evo Stick on my 964, its been on about 3 years now.

Yes there is an evo stick instant. I was going to use that as per warmfuzzies recomendation but I found some alordite in the garage and it said it bonded glass and plastic so I gave it a go. And it seems to have worked so far.

Those guys that have done this successfully, did you take the spoiler apart and 'glue' the fixings and then re-assemble or just stick the lot down all assembled? If that makes sense?
I've done the latter with arroldite and I'm going to leave it a good 48 hours at least before I drive. I seem to have got 'proper' contact but only a road test 'at speed' will be the true acid test!!!

Mine was new so it came in pieces anyway. I stuck the brackets to the screen using Halfords "interior mirror" fixing glue and that's lasted over 2 years so far. I let mine cure for more than 24 hours before I attached the spoiler.

I have to admit, I found it difficult to ensure you get the brackets in "exactly" the right place without it all being assembled - much easier if it's all together I'd imagine.

I stuck masking tape on the screen, put the spoiler in place and then marked where the pads would fit, then dissassembled it all and glued the pads down where I'd marked the tape.

Nah, no need fer alordite.
What yer need to do is get sumwun to 'old it in place, wile yer drill an 'ole froo ver winder an' ver lite, and yer can yoose a nise big nut 'n bolt. Nuffink wil shift vat.

I did not disasemble anything just cleaned the area best I could then used the glue around the rectangular "feet" still ok so far.
