Well after looking for what seams like an age I finally succumbed today and put a deposit down on my first Chim.
All being well I’ll be picking her up in 2 weeks time and can’t wait. Now need to work out what I’m going to do at work with no car hunting to do!

I’m up in Putney so look forward to meeting you all around there and down at the Surrey meets.

Cheers
Chris

Me too. I put a deposit down yesterday on a 2001 450 Chimaera.

I'm actually really apprehensive. I can't believe I'm about to part with £20k! It better be worth it, and it better not let me down, especially as it's going to be my only car.

I bought my Griff 500 last Oct having owned a turbo charged Ford RS for 12 years and I had to put a load of money into the change but it was well worth it. Now I've got loads of performance without turbo lag and a fantastic sound track into the bargain. Happy motoring guys.

Colin.

Cool, maybe I can meet up with you guys too? I'm in Guildford. Picking up mine on Wednesday. It is having a 6000mile service right now up in Preston. I'm getting a bit excited now.

Exactly the same feelings for me a couple of weeks ago. Bought a '99 Griff and wondered if it was wise to spend so much money on a weekend toy. Then I took delivery....................

Mak, I'm sorry you got offered such a low price. Sounds like you could get at least 16k for it privately. I was going for a 16k 450 '99 T reg but then saw an immaculate pearl blue 2001 model with the latest new look front lights. I decided that it would be a better buy becasue of the 'new look'. It is more in keeping with the latest Mecedes and Porsches looks wise, as opposed to the 'classic' looking normal Chimps, but also it will sell easier as it is quite a rare one. How many 2001 models have you seen on the road, and in Pearl blue?

It really hurts to part with 20k though so please can no one else rub that in and make it worse!

I'm really looking forward to it so let's hope it is a good decision...
