Liverpool FC are football's version of Porsche

I was thinking this whilst watching the FA cup final today. Liverpool FC are football's equivalent of Porsche. That is because, although not everyone's dream car or top team, the fans of both are the happiest and always get that bit extra. And the fans are therefore the strongest supporters. Even down to our rich cousins, Manchester united and Ferrari, we have similar adversaries who steal the limelight. Imagine Liverpool as a Porsche:
Benitez is the tactitian, the platform upon which sucess is built. Strong, sturdy, like the chasis of a 911.
Gerrard, the beating heart, unstopable, like the engine form a GT2.
Caragher, the never give up man, stopping all before him, like the cutting edge brakes.
And Traore, the Rear Main Seal.
Ahh, happy days!!!!!!

Where does Morientes come in? vanity mirror? What about Reyna? Spacesaver spare wheel? Crouch-carbonfibre-effect-tax-disk-holder? You're right about Gerrard being the engine, but the team really ought to be more like Ferrari: pay for Stevie G and get the rest thrown in for free

Both relying of tried and tested ways of doing this over the decades. Both also make a profit.
Unlike those scummers at United who are only about share price.
Chelsea are like TVR, they'll never get lasting success not matter how much money is thrown at them. They're fundamentally a poor outfit.

Except that Chelski had £250m spent on them and TVR had £15m ? Nice comparison!
As for the way Liverpool play now being tried and tested, I must have missed all those raking 30-40yrd crosses to a 6ft 7 striker in the 70s and 80s! Ian St. John, Hunt, King Kenny, Rushie, Aldridge, God, Owen (we'll leave out Stan on the grounds that he was a p1ss poor excuse for a striker)...6ft 7 they were not!

Agreed about Chelsea being poor. They look good on paper, but are essentially a 2nd division outfit trumped up and packaged with a load of stolen russian peasant money and sold to heartless fat city stockbrokers who will be supporting someone else next week when the KGB catch up with their slippery owner.

Oh God, I loathe Chelski and Im having to defend them? Anyway ...this would be the same 2nd Division Chelsea that had such luminaries as Zola and Vialli playing for them before the Russki?
Speaking as a Blackpool fan Id just like to say that even now at their ages we would *love* to have Zola and Vialli on our books! Alas 2nd Division mediocre we are liable to remain
P.S. Which 2nd division level are we talking about? Prem/Champ/1st/2nd ? Prem/1st/2nd/3rd ? 1st/2nd/3rd/4th ?
