Bu$$er!! Smashed driving light!

Seems that I have managed to not just crack the driving light on the Griff my almost totally anhilate the glass and I haven't even driven fast lately. So what I need to know are 4 things.

1). What lights are they? I know they are Cibe, but what model, Oscars?

2). Where can I get them?

3). Are they expensive? Or is that a stupid question?

4). Where can I get those little plastic discs to stop it happening again?

hi wildfire,

if you need the lower lights they are from a bmw e30 type. on some cars they used cibies on other cars bosch. just google after bmw e30 and you´ll see what car i mean. had the same problem and finally got both lights used for 20 eur.

There were a couple for sale in the PH classifieds last week - 49 pounds each or 99 for pounds for two. I know even to an Irishman that doesn't quite make sense!

My precat has hella's fitted, so they should fit also.

When i bought my griff approx year and half ago,my driving lights were shot to pieces,
i ordered new lights and local car factors got them for me,the plastic discs that fit to the lens of the lamps can be obtained from the tvr owners club website and from memory,they cost approx £20 for the pair. mine have been on since i replaced the lamps and have been fine.
A worthwhile investment to stone damage imho

sumoones post is great. can just advise anyone out there to buy the - i call them - driving lamp defendors. hard job too find the driving lamps within the uk i think. even a hard job here in germany. the bmw E30 are a dying species (mass production cars). better buy the defendors now before you have to pay bwm-classic-spare-part-prices ! just seeked renet.de for them and found NOTHING!

I bought a new one last week from the supplier Valeo direct on 01233 822 580. Ask for part number 082348 (they know it's for a TVR) and the cost inc shipping was £59.53.

To protect them in the future, give Armourfend a call and buy a pair of film discs - about £14.50 for both inc shipping.

They work a treat - 3 years on and mine are peppered with stone hits but the expensive glass is untouched. Made them myself and have a spare set - YHM.
