oil leak from sump

sorted i removed the bolts and found the new bolts that were fitted when the engine was rebuilt the thread didnot go all the way to the head of the bolt aprox 2mm from the head
i put a flat washer on the bolt tighten up the bolt
now sorted no more oil leak

Ah, monkey trouble
I suspect a lot of the leaking oil on my Esprit was due to a similar monkey having stripped the threads in the block.... I mean for Christ's sake how much torque do you need on a sump bolt? OK, so the Esprit sump is kind of a stressed element, but there is a torque figure in the book of words... or you could use 'mechanic's feel', which is nothing to do with that young secretary on a YT scheme...
