It's called lying and unfourtunatly in this case yes perfectly legal. Its like saying there was a sign that said "flood" but it had dryed up, "wildlife crossing" but I've never seen a Deer, mad comparisons I know but so is the law ! Oh yes and signs are cheaper than cameras.

So far as I am aware, you do not need to put up a Speed Camera sign in the vicinity of a Camera, and Vice Versa.

Keep a very sharp eye out for mobile gatsoes appearing in the near future. The same thing happened in my village. Beware of any vans parked by the side of the road. There might be a mobile gatso behind it.

Yep, Sunday coming home from my Car Club there was a Blue Unmarked Van on the side of the road (National Limit) , which just happened to Obscure the Speed Camera in front of it. Still, we know it is all safety not revenue eh ?!?!
