Can anyone out there relay experience of Koni FSD dampers fitted to their car? They sound like a good idea and seem to be reasonably priced as dampers go. But do they do what they say i.e. good damping at low speed for comfort, without compromising overall handling?

I realise im replying to a dated post here, but I may still have some good info for people considering FSD's..

They are very good! I had some fitted to a new Beetle (MKIV based car, so same as golf etc). The car had pretty soggy handling as standard. But was fairly comfortable I suppose. However, high speed stability was verging on dangerous.
The only upgrade I did was the FSD's, no springs or anything else.. The car was transformed very nicely.. Much tighter handling. Firmer ride, but so much more controlled that it was never at all uncomfortable. The car also rolled and pitched/dived a lot less with the FSD's also. This is usually the job of anti roll bars etc, but somehow the FSD's helped here too.. Grip, especially when corning on power was improved quite a bit. The car was infinitely more planted, and certainly felt safer at higher speeds.
Im not sure how the FSD's compare to other sports dampers, but still, I rate them highly, and would definitely recommend them.
The only drawback is, that they can raise the ride height very slightly (maybe 5-10mm). This will vary depending on the car, and other suspension modifications you may have. Also keep in mind that FSD's are not for lowered cars, or at least not substantially lowered cars anyway.
All the best, P
