Looking to get a cheap all in one printer fax copier.

It won't used for large document runs, just printing letters etc and a few short documents, biggest use will probably be as a fax machine, but being able to print a few colour photos etc would be good.

Our current laser jet printer is dying so laser black and white could/would be an advantage.

It's so long since I've seen an ink jet printer - does ink jet black and white compare to laser yet?

Any recommendations?

Many thanks
Ex.

Jack of all trades master of none.

£20 scanner and Hylafax will probably be a better solution...

Then a decent Mono laser like one of the little HP jobbies. I've got an 1150 and its fab I have to say.

Or a 33K modem and the existing HP 5L.... No fun in that though...

The Canon Pixma series seem to get excellent reviews.... and for shy of £200 don't seem too bad.

Still wondering about bubble jet and ink jet technology, it must've moved on over the years.. is it still a poor man's alternative to a laser jet?

Its still not as sharp as laser and I think per impression its FAR more costly than laser.
