Can anyone explain Alonso's recent victory "celebrations" for me please? A few weeks ago he seemed to think he was a giant rabbit or something, then yesterday he made like some kind of spaceman puppet.

Obviously he's pretty happy, but why the rabbit / puppet and what'll it be next??

Curious, wasn't it? My only idea was that the dance - swaying and bouncing with arms cupped behiond his back - could have been a reference to Obélix. You know, Asterix' big chum who fell in the vat of magic potion as a baby and now goes around with a whopping great boulder behind his back:

According to Autosport I think, his celebration in the first GP was something to do with Jim Careys Grinch film.

I know that one gesture he was making earlier in the season was an impression of a bullfighter... his being from Spain...but a lot of animal rights people raised ten kinds of h@ll about it so he stopped.

El Matador, eh? That'd be the one where he looked like bugs bunny would it?
