As said on one of the other sections I've been asked by a non computer literate friend of mine who ordered an SR3 with 1500 engine at the Autosport show earlier in the month to do some research and find out what I can. He's basically been given an early March build date and has the intention of Trackdaying all season and then racing it when he feels he can atleast secure a reasonable place on the grid (no illegal timing at track days obviously ) So how many other owners/orderers have we got what specs have you gone for and is there anyone in the North Cambridge type area. Oh yes his latest dilema was should he have air jacks or not

I decided not to get airjacks - they're pretty expensive, and you need to carry around either a serious compressor, or bottled gas in addition. The standard ultra-low profile formula 1 style jacks (i.e. you pull the lever back and it lifts the car) looked totally fine, plus the bar comes out so you can fold flat and put in the boot.

I also skipped the drybreak refuelling option, but think I got everything else!

Btw, who is your friend? Pity I missed the march build date - should have ordered before the autosport show, but wanted to have a test drive first!

You don't need the air-jacks for racing this year, and they can easily be retro-fitted in the future, so I'd leave them out personally.

I'm North Bucks, would be fun to see your mate's car.
I ordered mine last Saturday, an SR3 Supersport, 1500cc with dry sump, gear drive oil cooler, forward facing rollover bar stays (head not get squished), carbon/kevlar rear undertray and venturi, race lighting, q/r wheel, dash mounted brake bias adjuster, passenger 6 point harness, additional 98dB silencer, and tonneau cover. Trailer coming from Brian James direct rather than via Radical. Like Danny said, didn't feel I needed air jacks but perhaps if your mate is going racing they could be an advantage (I know other racers who have them). Didn't order the data logger cos I've already got one which is being plumbed into the car during build, but I think they're a good idea esp if racing/testing. Will go for additional gear ratios later (a tall gear for Spa etc). Electrical fire extinguisher looked scary, accidentally pull the knob on the dash and your engine fills with foam!
Cheers

PS. Didn't go for the double adjustable Konis. Can't see the point of having them on a car this well balanced but suppose it's a matter of taste. Know racers who don't have them either.
