LE MANS TRACK PARADE LAPS FOR CCCUK MEMBERS
Discussion
The CCCUK has been offered the opportunity for a LIMITED number of Corvettes ONLY to do TWO Parade Laps around the Le Mans circuit between 13.00 and 14.00 hours on Race Day in association with Team Luc Alphand Adventure (www.luc-alphand.com/) who have entered a C5R in the GT1 class. The laps are to raise awareness of the European Association Against The Leukodystrophies - an inherited neurological disorder (for more details see; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leukodys
Our passengers will be children who are suffering from the disease.
If you interested in taking part please let me have your name, CCCUK membership number, year of car, colour, whether coupe or convertible and registration number before Monday 22 May. If the places are oversubscribed I will have to draw lots - Convertibles are preferred by the organisers, but of course Coupes can take part. Whilst these laps are offered to us free of charge, I see no reason why we shouldn't each make a small donation to the charity of say 20euros per successful driver.
Whilst writing, the French Corvette Club are offering free parking in their usual Industrial Unit near the Red Car Park and Dunlop Bridge. They also have a Saturday BBQ for 20euro and General Admission tickets for 54euro. If anyone wants the contact details please let me know although at the time of writing it is not totally clear what Gerard Planche has planned for this year. These Track Laps are separate from anything which Gerard may be able to arrange for Corvette owners.

Hi Richard I am not being funny but do you know if anything has been organised for parking? Finishing a parade lap at 1400 does not leave a major amount of time to get out of the circuit, back to wherever your parking is and then back to the track and your grandstand seat for the start - given how appalling the traffic can be and normally is.

I think the start has been delayed until 5pm this year due to the footie. Should be plenty of time to get back, park up, fill up on cold Stella and hit the Grandstands.
Although I haven't joined the CCUK yet I will now! How do I apply for this and to register for the parade lap??
You can apply for membership via PayPal on the CCUK Club website at www.corvetteclub.org.uk via the link in the header or directly from this link

Correct - the benefit for you is that as I am also CCCUK Treasurer I will see your PayPal payment come through confirming you are a new member. So you may as well send me your details for the parade laps and you will be in the draw. Anyone else???
I thought that the start was earlier because France could have a game Sunday pm - can't be bothered to look it up - anyone know the answer.
