oh my god the roads in the south island are beautiful..........my friend and I drove the south island from Queenstown up to Christchurch, Picton, then down the West coast for a week......stunning, I miss the place a lot and my friend has no intention of coming back!

Alas I've only managed two - the South Island (in an XR6 ) and the Ring of Kerry (in an '87 Nissan Bluebird ). Oh well, gives me something to aim for I guess. The Amalfi Coast is next on the list.

I've done 5... Great Ocean Road yonks ago in a borrowed Lancia, Ring of Kerry in a rental Ford Ka (surprisingly entertaining handling), the Amalfi Coast two-up on a rental Vespa, the Welsh Borders in a Griffith, and the South Island on various trips over the years. Most scenic would have to be the Ring of Kerry and best drive was the welsh borders... but doing that one in the TVR might have something to do with it
