I have recently put bilstein suspension and venturi springs onto my golf mk3 for a 35mm drop.

However sincethen i have used the golf to tow my brothers wakeboard boat. since then my car no sits a good 20mm lower than before. an overall drop of 55mm. It looks good and drives fine, if anything the handling has improved. all parts are correctly tightened so i assume it is safe to drive.

Any opinions?

I found that the coil springs on my car sagged with time (lost about 20mm off 430mm overall height). I think it is because many aftermarket springs are not "scragged", I think this is an industry term for fully compressing them to ensure that once relaxed they don't sag as much over time. By towing the wakeborad you have probably done this and should expect much less sag from now on.

I assume you mean "Ventura" springs which are cheapy lowering springs from EuroCarParts (other places may sell them I don't know). I've got a set of these on my daily driver mk3 polo and they are a few years old now. They started off at -40mm compared to stock but have sagged a fair bit over time.

So I would agree that your springs have sagged.

Thanks for the responses. yes i did mean ventura, blame my bad typing. was interesting to find out about the fact that they ould have been unscragged. I guess that as they are unlikely to drop any further and there is no rubbing that it is safe to leave things as they are as it is no lower than if i had gone for a deeper drop which i assume would have just been shorter springs anyway

I am going to get the tracking looked at though as the compression has probably put the camber out on the rears now
