I had a chat with Paul Austin today, to get my motor booked in for her pre Le Mans checkover. He was talking about the new rollers he having installed, which should be ready in the near future. Anyway, as part preparation for dyno install, he popped over to SRR with a car he's been working on, to do some testing. It seems some lucky chap is about to get his hands on an absolute monster.
I'll leave it for Charlie from SRR to verify, but if I heard right from Paul, the car has just made a peak power of 430bhp in third, peak torque of 378lbft. The details are a Red Rose motor, with prep to the heads by Austec and an ACT induction kit fitted.

How much is Austec Racing pricing the Black Rose upgrade at?
I hear its available as stages too,
ie.
Black Rose Stage 1
Black Rose Stage 2
Black Rose Stage 3
Black Rose Stage 4 (i think this is the top one)
That Paul doesnt sit about - so now SRR is being used to show the facts to keep doubt-fuelled debates at bay! Good man!
(ps. I heard theres a little Black-Rose sticker that goes on the car to show whats under the hood too!!!!???? Professional and class!)

It appears feasible especially if it's on a Red Rose Specced Engine, but it depends on what "head work" has been done as well as other tweaks.
Nickccc's Cerb is producing 420bhp as a "std"? Red Rose running the normal induction pipes. With the Whirlwind Induction kit I reckon he would definitely hit near the 430bhp mark, so it's no great suprise a Red Rose car has possibly achieved this, with headwork you would expect to see more, but it depends on exactly what the additional work involves.
Hats off to whoevers car it is.

I like Black Rose, its got a dark edge to it. lol, as we're on the subject, I was thinking TCS Whirlwind was quite wierd, what next? TCS Tornado Farter linked pipes?
The eye-opening thing is, Paul is starting to show his racing history and technical skills through his work a lot more now with all the top suspension tuning he's doing and the head-work which he's done for quite a few now! Move over Red Rose - Black Rose is here!

Then go for Austec's Black Rose Stage 4 work! (or even start on stage 1 and work your way up as and when funds permit).
Whats really interesting is the new dampers Paul is getting sorted... could be THE dampers to have....
Spoke to Paul about my phoenix - and he's already planned out the ECU, fuelling and ignition! and also getting an ECU company to develop the software to manage the 16 injector fuelling setup

Thinking about it Black Rose actually sounds quite cool, I reckon Austec should stick with it, you're right about it having a dark side / edge to it, like I said maybe the Speed Six Upgrades should be named similarly as there appears to be a lot of Craft going into all the work that is being done. Calling the TCS Induction kit "Cyclone" would have been a bit extreme so naming it after something similar such as Whirlwind is cool by me, at least it in some way relates to what purposes the name is serving e.g. induction, movement of air etc.
