for anyone interested these are my renewal quotes;

31, 3yrs ncb, no claims, no convictions, E1 (terrible postcode)
964 RS with some factory extras, like matte rear cage and cup suspension.

Heritage - £1478, PCGB track days free others £62, don't use NCB
Elephant - £1100, daren't mention trackdays, must remove cage
Aon - waiting
Peart - £1818
Flux - refuse to use
Performance Direct - £1688, no track days
Herts - £1090, need to check re trackdays
Bickley - £1078, £105 per trackday, NU policy, can mirror NCB on all cars
Keith Michaels Brokers - not got round to asking
Nowell & Richards - ditto
Marsh - ditto
Classic Line - ditto

no affiliation etc... but Chris Wilkins at Bickley was a pleasure to talk to, a real enthusiast with a proper understanding of the cars, would definately recomend 0208 7738123 - i never thought i'd say that about anything to do with insurance !

anyway hopefully of some use for some of you

Try Ann Manning.. If you are a Porsche Club member PCGB, ATDO and FAEO organised track days are FOC, excess is much lower £1200 and the quote is usually pretty good too. I was with Bickley and whilst Chris is a top man & very friendly (he tracks his Scooby so has a love for cars himself), NU used to charge anything from £75 to £180 per track day (dependent upon which way the wind was blowing), they also had a limit of 5 track days per year....

Elephant load the premium heavily for any modified bits, but surely if the car came with a cage as standard equipement you don't have to declare it to them.

i agree. but it seems a bit daft to be arguing the point with 30 odd grand on the line when the specialist brokers are within spitting distance on price.

The cage is usually the sticking / loading point. The only company who I could find to quote sensibly for a quite modified, caged, ungaraged 964 C2 in London was Asset Trust. I paid well under £800 last year and was amazed ! Classic policy so doesn't even use the NCD. Worth a try.....

lets just say be extremely careful with all insurance documents and send everything recorded delivery, that way no one can pretend they havent received mail.

A Manning - 01491 578759

I'm paying £537 for a normal SD+P usage policy, but includes all PCGB and ATDO track days

Another recomendation for A Manning. Half any other quote at about £500 for my 964 and, as said above, includes PCGB trackday cover.

£1081, classic policy so doesnt use my no claims, agreed value and free ATDO trackdays and only small excess increase. magic
