Fault code 245 power supply
Discussion
Evening all
Anyone had this fault code, my alarm went off in garage cancelled it ok from the house but just went to check noticed door openers making a dull clicking sound windows not closing, driver side door internal button releases passanger side door. Went to start the car (2004 Tam)and the dash also lights and needles going a bit crazy won't turn over and says 245 power supply fault - any ideas, poss low battery but went for long run saturday so I would be surprised no other warnings of impending problems. Any thoughts/suggestions. S

Sounds familiar. Check for damp in passenger footwell; alarm module is in there along with passenger window ecu, if you pull out the carpeted Z-section at the end of the footwell.
Needs drying out; tip ECU's up first to see if any water's run inside! You'll probably need to trickle-charge battery in meantime. If the battery gets too low everything goes REALLY nuts
May alternatively be the large main fuse from the battery supply(also in footwell - in little black connector box) or the 100A fuse from the alternator, so not charging the battery.

I had this. As stated above, it was/is caused by water ingress in passenger side and the door ecu needs drying out. I jus unplugged the ecu and it was fine. I am yet to work out the water ingress mind as I need a weekend with a watering can and some patience! The ECU was fine as well. The water appeared to come down one of the looms into the socket.
For info, I found source of my leak last week; a corner of the fibreglass right above the ecu's, where one moulding joins another.
There was a small 1" x 1/2" area where there was matting but not enough resin, so using Coach's method could see the water pouring through - and dripping straight onto the ecu cables!
Easy to fix in half an hour with a fibreglass repair kit. This area's probably worth a look first, as it may have been a common difficult area to get matting & resin worked into the mould in that spot.
Edited to add...just read your new post, not sure what else to try.
Really does sound like ecu/damp problem. Could disconnect fuse I mentioned earlier in footwell, then - I think - still be able to recharge battery via Anderson connector, assuming you have the cables to connect to it.

Hi again
Just to close this thread off: thanks for the responses guys, diagnosis spot on. A few days to dry out and a good charge with a standard charger as battery completely dead, then put the Optimate on to top the battery right up. Also wondering if water getting in via the battery cover plate, couldn't see as I did not take the battery out but must be very close to the door & alarm ecu's. Just hope no damage done to the battery.
