Hey there,

I've had My 03 986 S for only about two weeks now (bought from a Non OPC garage) And it's great. However, I'm having a couple of issues.

When I set off in first and depress the clutch to change into second I get an annoying judder, well best described as a thud really. Sounds feels like the clutch isn't disengaging properly out of first gear.

Also I've noticed a few times that When I change down into second from third in town (low revs) sometimes the gear lever just pops out of second! It's happened to me more than a couple of times now and it's really annoying. At first I thought it might just be that I'm not used to it but now I'm not so sure.

Has anyone else had this problem, if so what did it turn out to be? I thought it might be some kind of gear linkage thing maybe?

Cheers

Andy

There's a recent thread on 996 gearbox problems that'd be worth your attention ..

Have exactly the same issue.... although not convinced it is an issue (going on previous threads and the fact it seems to go away when the car is warm). Car is still under warranty going to take it to west sussex in a week or so. Would appreciate it if you could respond with what the OPC has to say...

Thanks
