Yes that was mine!! - I was actually suprised at the final price, but he has PayPal'd me the deposit & has given me all his details & is picking it up Saturday.

Even if he falls through the 2nd highest bidder (£5200) definitly wants it aswell.

It just shows you what difference an honest well written ad with 12 good photo's detailing everything can make!!

But come on - it is a full MOT'd & inspected re-sprayed minter ,

I've also got to say - VERY dissapointed in the response on here just ONE reply, seems too many on here are delving into the apparent slide in wedge values & are expecting to pay pittence for one, (& will suffer from open-wallet surgery later!)

Quite a few people on here were slating Ebay - I have just proved that you can get your price on there with a well written, honest, open ad.
& too be quite frank it has wiped the floor with P/H classifieds

So I advertised it on here for £4850 & got £5300 on Ebay

Ebay - every time isn't it?

I won't part without saying I'll be sad to see it go, especially only after one summer, but things have now changed in my life & I have more important things to spend my time & money on!.

I WILL be owning another TVR in the future, that is a definate!, watch this space....

J

I thought the ad was good and the photographs excellent

ebay is always going to have a much larger general audience, when I sold my 350 (on ebay) the guy had never heard of PH despite having had a 350 before

Glad you got a proper price for it. I think most of the people that visit this site already have one, so probably not the widest possible audience. Tell the new owner about us though, there are some very knowledgeable and helpfull chaps & chapesses on here

I have done just that! - I have posted the link to the PH classifieds to the unsuccessfull
bidders & have told everyone who emailed me during the auction for advice about the wedge Forum & the wealth of knowledge on here - keep it up!.

There is one big downside to Ebay though! - toooo many people on there have no idea what these cars really are! & what the critical things to look for on them are & how much a dog is worth compared to a minter - here's a couple of examples of some of the questions I had:

"I'll offer you £3000 to end the auction now" (& the price at the time was £3200!

"has it got an electric roof"

"has it had a cambelt change? - if not when is it next due"

"what is the chassis based on - it looks a kit car chassis!!"

I won't go on!

(EDITED THE TEXT MYSELF AS I WAS TALKING OUT OF MY ARSE)

NICK'S car is getting cheaper and cheaper....i would have looked at it when i was searching had she been that sort of price!...i hope i dont have problems selling the 400, although they 'seem' to fetch pretty good prices...

Mines SOOO much better than when i bought her, although i know you dont get a return on your investment!

Oh well, keep the drives and smiles up i guess!

Matt-man, if you are referring to the lovely yellow 400SE from the link above that's not firefox's, which is a 420 anyway.

It certaintly will not get any cheaper I'm in no rush to sell but I've had so little interest I wondered what a decent price drop would do. It's only advertised on PH at the moment but I think I'll put it on Ebay at the weekend then try Autotrader after that. It will be in Autotrader at £6750.

Auto trader and ebay hit such a large audience. Which is good, if only as an advertising media. Got to be worth a bash.

Ebay seems very odd on times, for instance, there is a lovely blue one on there, struggling around the 2k mark...

At least it gets the coverage though.
