Managed to fit my new hard drive, all running smoothly and I even found a load of stuff that was on my old computer I forgot I had! Bonus!!

One problem is that I had this particular drive while I was at college, and for some reason decided it would be a good idea to partition it in to 3. 2 at 11,5 GB and one at 4.87GB which I put Windows on. (What a ) Oh and the last time I checked 23 + 4.87 isn't 30!

So now I want to remove the 3 partitions and create One disk again.

How?

TIA
Stuart.

BTW, I have slept since college so I forgot how to do it.

You'll never get 30Gb out of a 30Gb disk as it reserves a portion for the index.

This will occur if you have one partition or many.

Windows disk manager will allow you to repartition the disk and format it, assign a drive letter etc. but you will lose all the data on it.

Parition Magic will allow you to adjust the partitions and keep your data.

Cheers All

I think Partition magic is the best bet, I've managed to rescue most of the stuff I wanted but I've run out of room on the other disc.

I want to change the File system to NTFS from FAT32. Can partition Magic do that AND keep data?

I think Acronis DiskDirector which you can download from their website or buy (bizarrely cheaper) from Amazon is considered to be the front runner in this field now.
