billynomates junior here

I'm off to uni in Australia in July and require a new laptop. I have been looking at this one, what do you chaps reckon? Any good?

If not, any other suggestions?

PS. It can't cost too much money, the old mans paying.

Heard good things about Acer laptops, but not used one myself.

Dell seem to have some very good offers in the tabloids at the mo, so might be worth a look.

IBM don't, but this review suggests the follow on is not too bad - might be worth a look depending on what you want to do.

Steve it wasn't a serious comment, more of a little banter between myself and Plotty.

Lenovo bought the operation "lock, stock" and I haven't seen any real changes TBH.

No problem mate, I hadn't got a clue that IBM had stopped making laptops. I only discovered that thanks to your comments and about the follow on from that PC Pro review.

Steve.

Think it was making a big loss, so IBM sold it off.

In my considered opinion Acer are shte. If you are buying in the UK to use in Australia get one which has a decent international warranty: Toshiba, IBM or HP.
