Just thought id let you know that there is a new(ish) chap on the block who just sorted my Griff out for me. A 12k service, new clutch, MOT, sleeved exhaust, hand clean and waxoyl, polished exhaust, fixed broken cigarette lighter (for the Acumate you understand!!) and fixed bonnet stay - all for £1500 including VAT !!!

I know its not all about price but having visited Neil a couple of times before letting him loose on my P&J I was very confident in his set up and , more importantly, him. It transpires that prior to setting up his business Neil worked on GT cars and also for the Arrows F1 team. His last job was as lead mechanic for Alonso in the Renault F1 team. He has a good set up there as far as i can tell - also i took someone else in who knows more than me and they were impressed as well!!

Anyway i share this with you not 'cause Im on commission, but because I reckon theres a good bloke with a ready made market in the West Country. I know most people have their favourites but if you are not happy currently give him a shout or pop in and see for yorself. I reckon its the right thing to share these good experiences. Im already talking suspension with him for the summer....

His details are www.neilgarner.co.uk or tel 01666 577449. He is based in Kemble near Cirencester

Cheers

Have to say that i was so very impressed by Neil, and his set up.He has a lovely workshop, fully equipped with more than everything our cars need, and what a thoroughly nice chap to deal with.I was very impressed with the work on Jeffsy's Griff, the attention to detail was superb, and very reasonable labour rates too! Can't wait to get mine in there. If you fussy about who cares for your Tiv,he has to be worth a visit

Was going to ask your advice mongoose - you'd recommend him over your local garage then?

To be honest Grifter,i'd be happy with either, and come service time i'll be in a bit of a quandry!!Neil has all the equipment necesary to carry out a full service, whereas at my local garage i have to take the car elsewhere for a geo set up,once the service has been done. The convenient thing for me though is that my local garage is just 5 mins away,so i just dont know to be honest.Obiously if i were nearer to Neil,or wasn't lucky enough to know Adrian(the local),then it would be no contest.
Before i used Adrian,i went through 3 Tivs trying to find the kind of chap that Neil is,and tried many dealers and indies, and was never 100% happy, and some were truly awfull. This was how i ended up at the only place i could trust, being my local garage(not an indy or dealer, just bloody good and honest).
Its a bit like busses isn't it!

I see this ones a year old...

Just got my 968 back from Neil, again top service. Just had all new Koni Suspension fitted and correctly set-up....

Everytime I visit ( Porsches love garages ) Its either stacked out with TVRs or Boxsters.

But in short another happy customer
