Wiper Arms

I would like to refurbish or renew the arms for the wipers, tried searching the forum but can't find if the wipers are from another car or not, has anyone replaced theirs if so how much were they and where from. Thanks

I replaced mine with the leven units.
They are much better at clearing the screen and look neater as well!
Give them a call as not sure what the current prices are.

Plug, the (well MY) instructions weren't very clear (but I am pretty fik). You need to slide the new water pipe up through the middle of the return spring (ooh err) to hide the pipe and stop the pipe flopping all over the place (they say to use some superglue aswell, but I didnt).

It will all become clear when you get the bits in front of you

They sound quite good!
Think i'll give them a try.

I took my wiper arms off last year and gave them a sand down and lick of paint, but the rust is starting to come back through again now.

Are the wipers delivered and fitted yet? Any feedback to give?

My wipers seem to stop at different points all the time. I re-adjust them and then a short time later there in the middle of the screen.

I've checked the motor.

Is it easy to change the wiper system. I've looked but I don't know how you access them.

Any ideas?

Had the same problem myself but the fix was simple..ish.
On the wiper motor there is a connector block that has the limit switch inside. This can be removed and replaced with a new switch (less than £20...Do a search and you will find out more)
Being a cheap-skate, I simply pulled the switch apart, cleaned the contacts and put it back together. Works perfect.
Hardest bit is removing the wiper motor. If you have little fingers you can slide the switch off the body of the motor whilst in situe but it is fiddly. I took the opportunity to completely strip the motor, clean and grease it up and test it whilst it was out. A total of 1 hours work.

OK Slight tangent now..

the black plastic cover through which the wiper actuators pass, runs along just under the windscreen, how do you get it off????

There are two bolts along the bottom of the cover on a spring washer, one is out, the other wont come out and the first one wont go back it....arrrgh

regarding washers, i mod'd the standard floppy pipes on the wiper, using a combination of hardpipe, black heatshrink and some holes. much neater and much more efficient. A search on here should reveal all
