While I've not had the Tiv, I've been trundling around in the shed looking at lots of great places and it's made me start thinking about taking some good quality pics to put in the folio.
I've seen a range of promotional TVR shots (like those in John Tipler's TVR book) and that's the kind of thing I'd like to end up with - something that shows off the car amongst some great scenery. I do quite fancy trying industrial landscapes but I'm not sure if the S really suits this as much as a later car with more extreme styling. Also parking the S at high altitude overlooking mountains would be very cool indeed.
Getting There
As I don't have the luxury of a trailer, how do you get to a location and take pictures without splattering crap up the sides and get the tyres looking like they're new without basically blocking a road for an hour while you get some soap and water out and waiting for it to dry?
Locations
Any great locations you can recommend that are reasonably quiet so I don't always have to be moving the car to let people past? I live in the southwest so locations near to there appreciated... we all know how much petrol costs!
I have a number of places in south Wales in mind already but suggestions much appreciated.
Angles
I've found the S to be quite odd to photograph as it can look very long, very short, badly proportioned or perfectly proportioned at different angles and in different lights. Anyone found the perfect angle for the S?

I am not too sure about anything but I would see a British Racing Green S in the Dartmoor National Parl overlooking the valleys on a summer evening with the sun setting in the background. I think the mix between the short grass and the growing rocks wis the perfect environment for that car... Dunno, something primitive about it all...

Got back from a week in the Lake District earlier today - that'd make a stunning location for some S photo's.
Just brought a new 10-20mm lens and tripod before the hol so intended to get out see what I could do with the S once back from the Lakes. Gutted though that I was set for the perfect dawn shot on Buttermere when a startled sheep slipped down a slope, knocked my tripod over and smashed my 24-70mm f2.8 lens
Hopefully can get it replaced soon and post some pic's of the S here....

Yep I was there a couple of weekends ago. Scotland the weekend after. And have just come back from a weekend in Snowdonia / North Wales.

Bloody sheep! Sorry to hear that.
What system do you use? I'm impressed with Tokina's PRO series of lenses and have the 28-70 2.8 and 20-35 2.8 which seem very sharp and very sturdily built. I'm still on film though, much to my annoyance this weekend while trailing around about 5 towns and many, many shops trying to get hold of some Provia or similar.

Nikon D100 body, Sigma 10-20mm, Sigma 24-70 f2.8 (in bits!) and a Nikon 70-300. The later was due to be upgraded ready for Le Mans but funds will now be used to replace the broken one.
I dunno if you ever visit the photo pages on pistonheads? There's some stunning / inspirational pic's there, plus loads of friendly advice on kit, techniques etc.

I have the Canon system, with the two Tokinas plus a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and a Tokina 300 f/2.8 which I mostly use for motorsport.
If I was to sell my kit I could afford a Canon 5D or a 1D Mk2, but then they'd be useless without lenses...!
I think I'll struggle on with film a bit longer though it really doesn't make sense financially or practically any more. In Wales, a roll of Kodak 64 was £12, and then there's processing at £6 so for 36 shots I'm paying out £18 so that's 50p a shot. I usually use Provia but that's £8 (anywhere but online) so £14 the lot and 38p a shot. Totally nuts.
I don't normally visit the photo forums. Not sure why but I think I burned myself out on photography forums a long while ago.

Did you aim to have the reflections of the clouds on the bonnet? It's a nice shot.
I'd quite like to see a Photoshopped version of that with the colours a bit richer or warmer.
