Just wondering what was the road of choice from Rouen down this year?

A28 i'm sure is gonna be a great deal faster, but the N138 is so much fun!!

It would seem the general feeling is N138 going down (has to be done), A38 on the way back (nice and simple, too tired for anything else)...

138 all the way! Word on the street is the cops will be all over the 28.

I need to get down there asap so will be going A28, I think the N138 isn't what it used to be, too much traffic and too many

Rumour does indeed have it that the new motorway is going to be a turkey shoot for Le Plod so probably worth missing on the way down at least.

Last year I came back on the B roads via Alencon, Argentan, Lisiuex, Honfleur over the Pont Du Normandy and then pick up the motorway at Le Havre all the way back up to Calais.

Largely Plod free and a great Hoon to boot, well worth the effort.

Landing at Dieppe Thursday lunchtime and was told to try to get down before 4/4.30pm as they close the roads for practice? Having said that, with a good map and satnav, no reason why I cant do some country lanes for the last part if it looks like we arent going to make the deadline?

Having done 138 each time I have been, it just would not be the same without it. May well stop in Rouen this year as well since there is usually some traffic and nice cars

Still need to get the air con fixed...!

Plod have developed a habit of setting up radar traps in the Aires so watch you speed as you come in until you have a clear view.

FUBAR - we're on the same boat - this is my 20th year ! and in my humble opinion I would avoid the 138 or 28 on the way down with the exception of heading towards Beaumont sur Sarthe for a spot of light refreshment before making the final run down in so be adventurous and go the back route (so to speak) and don't worry about the track being closed when you get there it's still pretty easy to get around

Actually, there's one other TVR on the boat (dunno if he's a PHer?) that I know of. Thought I was sharing the boat with a load of lorry drivers and no petrolheads (disclaimer: :cough: not saying lorry drivers arent petrolheads )

Certainly interested in running some of the way down with you, especially as you are such an old pro at this (God, the stress, tension and worry has suddenly evaporated )

I was/am running with satnav so I wasnt THAT worried, but someone who knows the intersting routes would be more than welcome. Even if you are with others, maybe you can point out a route over a coffee on the boat?
