In the flesh, it really is a testimont to dedication and hard work ...
Well done David, a superb effort.
The engine was cleaner than all of my cutlery and the wheels do like very nice !
I couldn't possibly have a car in that condition, I just use 'em far tooo much !!
The guys assured me that underneath was equally as immaculate and Rob was genuinely anxious of driving on those roads and the amount of mud up there at the minute.
Great car ...

Everything !!
Long story, but I have had the engine completely rebuilt. Top and bottom. I have only added 45mmm trumpets, ported inlet manifold to match and a 'stealth' cam, new lifters, springs etc. Block was already top hat lined. Have had to buy MA chip as original ECU would not give it enough fuel at the top end. The engine has also been properly balanced this time.
Was run up on the engine dyno yesterday and ready to drop back in mine, starting tomorrow !
Engine had developed a tappet noise, got much worse, very quickly. So I stripped the engine and removed what was left of the cam and lifters. Debated doing the rebuild myself, but to be sure that it hadn't effected anything else I asked V8D to rebuild it completely.
They really are a great bunch, and I can not recommend them enough to anyone.

I bet you can't wait to get
Your car looks superb in your profile, I hope to see in in the 'flesh' someday
What cam did you have in before? How long did it last? I'd be interested to hear your comments on the difference when you get it back. Sounds like you've got a bit of a monster there if it's running out of fuel at the top end

Unfortunately it is not looking like i'm going to make Zolder again this year
What with Le Mans and a proposed trip to Provence and an engine rebuild the finances are stretched at the moment to say the least !!
David,
I had Rob's new 'stealth' cam fitted, as discussed on the forum previously and currenlly fitted to Quinny's Griffith. It should combine the benefits of both MC range and 404 to give driveability at lower revs whilst retaining the ability to breathe at the top end as well...
Had an MC1 previously which was good, but didn't have much left after 5k, but didn't want the sometimes shunty performance of th 404 at lower revs ..
The dyno was slipping so it was difficult to get a proper power run done, but the number and Rob's experience say/saw 315bhp and 340 lbsft.
We saw higher numbers but it was not reliable so these are numbers I'll quote if asked.
Reift was delated for a new release bearing,, so hopefully by the end of tomorrow the engine and gearbox will be back together !
