Lights on buzzer

Gone and left the lights on today (didn't know) and the siren went bananas, couldn't get in the car, couldn't turn off the alarm etc etc. Disconnected siren and took out fuses, took off earth to battery but nought. Thought it was alarm related but after call to the alarm god finally got to the conclusion it was a flat battery.
Hence, now need a buzzer to stop the dickhead (ie me) doing it again.
Haven't jumped it yet but will soon as I'm 50 miles from home and at work.
Anyone done it? It must be easy otherwise I've got no hope of conecting it.
Any help much appreciated.

I've got a kit in my garage - not a lot of use there I know but I'll get to it one day.
The kit came from Maplins (doesn't everything electrical?), I can get details easily enough if you want them Paul.
One trick I use to remind me about the lights is this - I've got one of those little wooden apple air fresheners which usually hangs from the indicator stalk. When I put the lights on I move it to the handbrake lever to reming me when I stop that the lights are on. It's worked so well so far that like I said earlier, the lights on warning kit is still on the bench!

Got the leads on (not easy with heavy duty leads as they don't fit too well in such a confined space) and the fuel pump didn't prime when I tried to start it. Took the main alarm fuse out for 10 seconds put it back in and the indicators flashed so it had reset, clicked the blipper, indicators flashed to show its open so got the key in quick, turned it over and it fired.

Not being electrically minded not sure which Diode would be needed but Im sure maplins will supply it if someone can come up with a spec....

I just know i'm going to regret saying this.......but,if i made a few kits up would anyone be interested?
I thought i could buy all the parts up,then make the kit up to sell at the growl.I would like to do this so that i could add say £5 to the parts cost to make the sale price,then i could give the profit to my favourite charity(i like to give them a bit as often as poss).I could even supply a simple instruction sheet with the kit.I would do it on the absolute understanding that i wouldn't make a penny profit myself though,as i would not want to do it as a comercial venture.
How many of you would be interested then?

I did a simple kit for my chim (documented here). Basically if the lights are on, and the ignition is off then the buzzer beeps.
I found this easier than trying to wire it into the internal light as all of the required wires are on the stereo loom.
mongoose - good plan, I'm sure if you mentioned it on the Chim forum you'd get some interest too.
