Guys,

I posted a while ago regarding my Sis and her husband travelling to Italy by car. They want to avoid the tunnel through the Alps and my brother in law wants toi travel some of the routes seen on the likes of Top Gear and Italian Job (the original).
Can any give me the route he would need to take.

Cheers,

Kev

I just got back from Italy and wanted to go over the Alps rather than under them. Original intention was to use the Little St Bernards Pass from Albertville, but it was closed. Not sure if that was due to recent snowfall, but we did hear a story that the pass didn't open until June.

If you do get recommended a pass, I would suggest checking the status of it before travelling.

Nah you need to go on the St Gottardo pass over the Alps. Took the Murcie over and it was the most stunning scenery I have ever seen..I went thro the tunnel (15km) before by mistake. 2100m high and with snow tunnels, ice capped mountains and lakes. Just stunning.
