As the VX site is down I though Id post this here.

As you know the VX suffers badly from stone chips esp on the side - This is because VXL didnt fit any guards on.....[All Loti's have some]

I have just finished my prototype and fitted it to the VX.

I think they look fantastic and will do the job nicely - they will also stop all the mud and crud getting splashed/flicked all over the sills. They are very soft so wont come off/get damaged.

I will supply the guards and fixings for £28 + P&P.

Just cleaned her so thought Id post some pics!

PS.. I know the VX needs a good clean - but its been tipping down!

Ive just been for a blast in the wet - They defo work as you can see all the marks/dirt on them where the stones and dirt has been deflected. The added width over the sides means a greater angle - stopping the stones getting the sides.

I’m very interested in these Chris. Just cleaned a load of cow sh#t off mine (one of the down sides to knowing a traffic free way into Oulton Park). How do they fit i.e screws or rivets?

I fitted mine with screws - you could use rivets if you wanted though.

How do I get a set? Do you want to wait till the site is back on line or I could send you payment via Paypal?

Looks Ok on a black car

I think another problem maybe the paint wearing off in the wheel arch....mine is nearly grey now

Thats easily solved with some layers of Fablon available from you local Focus or you can use some plastic sheeting before fitting the guards. I can bundle some extra Fablon in to make your arch panel black for an extra £2 or you could just buy some yourself. Fablon is easily replaceable.

As for the guards - wait until the VX site is up and running.

But please put your names down if your interested as I'll have to order the materials in.

Like I said CC If you cover your arch panel [red in your case] with some black fablon which is really easy to do then it will sort out your problem! I can supply some fablon with the flaps or you could just buy some yourself - or even buy some plastic sheeting.

The flaps are made out of a high quality moulded rubber that holds its shape very well whilst being very flexible so it will not get damaged if fouled.

As for payment I will prefer direct bank transfer or cheque/money sent by recorded del.

The better half has a pay pal acc if needs be though.[I hate paypal - due to fee's and time wasting]

Sorry about the pics - I'll take some more when the VX is clean and its not raining!

PS. I'll include a little how to with the flaps.

Also for postage reasons I think that its best for you to buy the Fablon from Focus [it comes in a roll so will crease if I post!]

No probs - like I say if you want some and put your names down as this determines the amount of materials I can order.

I'll wait until the VX site is up for we get a proper list [so I can determine numbers]

I'll try and take some better pics today.

Ah, thought fablon was clear like armourfend - I have the arch panel covered in srmourfend but there is a 3mm gap along the bottom edge, this is where it is missing paint....

The guards will stop stones hitting the bottom and underside.

You can get Fablon in any finish or size - you could go for oak, teak, marble, hologram, granite, even grass! Personally i'm thinking of setting off my red n/a with beautiful green velour.

True! But for ultimate protection get some sheet plastic.

The Guards will however protect the underside of the car, bottom of the inside wheel arch [like cc describes] and side sills.
