Transmission fluid - How much? (Rover Box - SD1 - NOT T5)

Just changed the transmission fluid in my Rover Box, but know I am a little confused. The figures for the oil capacity in owners manual are 2.5 pints (1,4Liter). The same is named in Steave Heath book on page 216. On the other hand on page 218 - Maintenance - he writes "With the SD1 gearbox, the oil should be level with the bottom of the filler hole."
I have filled 1,5liter in the box and I would have to add a least 0,5 - 1 Liter until it will be level with the bottom of the filler hole.
Any advice??

Yeah the book is wrong or there is a typo, it should be 2.5litres for both types of g'box.

are you sure, as I recently did mine and checked the hand book as well as the bible, and that says 1.4lt as well??

Thats probably because Steve got his info from the handbook.
