Which is easiest in the long run (to replace the clutch and tidy up a few bits and bobs...)engine out or engine and gearbox out?

Engine only took 2 and a half hours when i swapped mine, if you want gearbox out aswell, all the exhaust etc must come off.

If you are going to take the box out make sure that you have access to either a pit or a 2 or 4 post ramp. I think to do it just on axle stands would be extremely difficult.

Good point well made, the engine is free now except for the belhousing bolts so I guess I'll do them in the morning and sort things from there! I'll have a couple of extra pairs of hands to help align things putting it back in.

Oh how I wish I had a proper garage to work in instead of a three sided car port in a farm yard. The engines ready to be hoisted out, but I'm soaked to the bone and pissed off. Any idea when it's going to stop raining???

Woes me!!!

Er, you live in North Wales!

Is this a philosophical question?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, its basically going to be wet and windy to mid week and probably beyond (based on the Met office avaition forecast, which is usually pretty accurate). In the short term the only dry spell in your loaction is going to be from about 10pm Monday night till sometime (? late) Tuesday morning. If its any consolation i went out to do a job on one of the cars outside this afternoon and promptly got drenched,

That's ok I guess, I'm at a trackday at Oulton on Tuesday morning
BTW, are these accurate aviation forecasts availible to the common public online?
