As Posted in previous post, I'm heading off (first time) with the Turbo on 24th June on ferry (Rosyth - Zeebrugge) then travelling down to Frejus (between Cannes & St. Tropez) I have the Sat Nav so i'm not going to get lost which is great! I wondered if anyone had a check list (things to do) before heading off! example insurance, headlights adjust, etc, etc. Oh! and do I have to stick one of these huge, fuk off ugly GB stickers on my lovely car?

I just got the number plates with 'GB' on the end and that seemed to keep Frog Plod happy.
Thought about this, can you buy this as a sticker then stick it on?
Don't know, I just had new plates made up (was switching to personal plate anyway so made no difference).

I just got back from a Euro trip so it's pretty fresh in the memory.
High vis jacket about £8 from Halfrauds
Warning Triangle which will be in your tool kit
GB Sticker for number plate already mentioned.
2 can of tyre weld. Decided to leave my space saver at home so got the tyre weld. Thankfully didn't need it.
V5, MOT and Insurance docs. Not sure I needed all that but took it anyway.
Inform insurance company of countries to be travelled in.
Call Tracker (or equivalent) if you have one. Tracker cover France but nowhere else.
Spare bulb kit. I didn't bother but I think it's illegal in some countries.
Headlight deflectors (Halfrauds) although you may have Litronics which will need to be adjusted.
Think that's about it. Have a great trip. It really is good fun. Also watch for the fixed speed cameras in France. They are about 4 ft tall and look like a wheelie bin with glass in the top 1/4. The one that got me as I came down from Mont Blanc was forward facing and I had no clue what it was and didn't even see it until it flashed. 99ks in a 90k limit so not much leeway.

I got flashed by the same camera comming down from Chamonix / Mont Blanc about 2 months ago. I was in a swiss rental car and I have not yet received the fine through AVIS so maybe there is hope for you that it is only a warning.
The one that got me was just coming onto a bend. I didn't see it at all until it flashed. Probably got to used to our cameras which I have to say are much more visible. Here's hopeing my UK plate will ensure they don't bother to track me down.

No GB sticker either - got pulled by the plod for speeding and they didn't care. Saw quite a few UK numberplated cars with no GB sticker (and not on the plate either).
If it's for peace of mind fine, but just saying that the chances are you don't need to worry about it.
