G/f reckoned she must have smoked 60 a day.
They hadn't done a lot of planning had they, no idea of food costs, no idea of cooking etc. Should have at least done a nightclass in cooking...
.... like all these good ideas there is always a catch, they thought they would be skiing every day not working 20hours/day.

It never ceases to amaze me that, out of all the people who have featured in this series, not one of them has thought to take a course in the native language of the country they are moving to before leaving the UK.

Typical Brits abroad, I suppose.

And what kind of fool attempts to cook a dish for the first time when they've got 12 paying guests waiting to be fed? (Wonder if he's realised yet that it's a fan-assisted oven, and that's why all his food keeps getting burnt?)

Missed it unfortunately (GF got Ratchet and Clank as a happy Wednesday present!) Were they as blinkered and stupid as last weeks lot? (Having money does not save you from Numptyism!!!) - We didn't get a survey done because it looked fine to us! DUH!!!

They're not going to focus on people who actually know what they're doing are they

Still if you can turn half a profit on a web based ski chalet when you can't cook, can't speak French and have no idea how to set up a web site, let alone a bussiness.....

I might have a go myself

Yeah planning. Like designing the tiniest kitchen in the world for the chalet kitchen where you are cooking for 14 people and having a good sized kitchen downstairs for 2 people. Doh! So end up not using the chalet kitchen at all and have wasted all that money and space on it.

Expecting a building project in another country and language to be finished on time and on budget when you are not even there to supervise?

Mind you if they can do it and still break even after missing 6 weeks bookings, being 1/2 empty for the whole ski season and be 26K over budget........
