After many months on the photograpy forums here I took the plunge and bought a DSLR!

Yesterday and today I have been shooting so here's the best so far. ALL feedback welcome. (please)

1) - SHEEP

Edit: to make it bigger.

I like the second one lovely colours.

Best to view pics on here is to size them at 750 pixels wide

I want to be able to edit and have a play with the picture using something like photoshop. I have elements atm but havent a clue how to use it (can just about resize!)
Now I'm sure my local college do PS lessons has anyone had ''training'' to use photoshop etc, if so what can you reccomend??

The last one is my favourite, lovely colour. The snail is nice and sharp too. I cant decide whether he is urinating or dripping though

Mrs fish, isnt the ideal PH photo size 700 pixels, not 750, or...

Im using elements 3 for now sam. Just get stuck in, take lots of photos and play with them in elements. The more photos you take, the more you'll realise which remedies you need to learn to correct them, both in camera and on the pc. As the hours pass you'll find yourself becoming ever more proficient with the basics of both mediums.

1 month ago, Id not used an SLR before either, was convinced my lens was faulty and didnt know a clone brush from a toilet brush. Resize was also the only function I knew how to perform 1300 photos later (including several extended bursts to satisfy the aural pleasure (ooh errr!) the shutter gives) and Ive picked up enough to make my meagre shots look a little more dignified.

Study PS at your local college, but you might gain a bit more from the experience and the other people there by teaching yourself the basics first
