Greetings,

I just bought a car secondhand that has no tax. I know i'll need to transfer insurance so i'll see if I can get a covernote sent for an advanced date to switch over. I do however need to tax it. I have the V5 counterfoil and a current MOT. Would these be enough to tax it with a covernote or do I need to wait until the entire V5 arrives?

The little green slip (is it still green?) is fine for taxing but you must fill it out.

You have everything you need to re licencse the vehicle apart from Insurance CN/Cert
and cash....

PO will want to confirm vehicle is Insured.

I think so, Thanks for that. I'll call my insurers to see what options are available as it would be a good idea to have a second limited mileage policy for getting the other car to and from storage/service/etc instead of switching between cars on the same one which runs up my admin charges.
