Just been through the usual annual call around and have to say well done to Heritage - not only £110 cheaper than my previous insurer, but also a lower excess AND free trackday cover !

Are there any restrictions to the trackday cover? Is the policy limited mileage?

Limited to 5000 per year (I only managed 4.5k last year for various reasons)

Track days must be organised by a compnay on the approved list - the list includes TVRCC :-). Theres an increased excess for trackday by £1000 and of course it only covers my car for damage not anyone elses.

But all in all seemed like a fantastic deal when compared to the other quotes I was getting. Most of the 'specialist' TVR insurers were more expensive than my current Norwich Union quote !

Just signed up with the nice chaps at Hegarty:-

£428 for Chimaera 500 with Taraka engine upgrade/Nitrons/Brakes/Exhaust....
as a second car/Garaged/3k miles with £100 excess. Aged 44 ( but look younger :-) ) with no tickets or claims.

Others were more expensive with higher excess.

And theres the difference - 5K and no garage. The lack of a garage is a real problem for most of them. Im on adjustable shocks and black diamond disks
