Bonnet touch up

I have a number of small chips on the bonnet which i can only presume is stone chips.

Asking your collective wisdom, is it likely to be a full re-spray so the colour matches?

None of them are deep or large, but there are quite a few. You only notice it close up, and if you're looking, but its something i may just get fixed

What colour's the car? ChipsAway can be quite good at these things, but important to find a ChipsAway franchisee that someone has used before and recommends...

Chipsaway have a policy of not doing chips on flat panels like the top of a bonnet... although this could be down to the individual franchisee.

I think any 996 more than 6 months (weeks?!?) old picks up such stone chips - if you get it resprayed you'll end up re-doing it every year! They nearly always get at least some paint on the front when they go through the hands of the specialists before going on sale. Your main problem (other than cosmetic issues) is if any have gone through the zinc galvanising layer in which case corrosion is a possibility. I also have arctic silver and use one of the colour coded touch up wax things (not paint, looks like a grey lipstick). It doesn't hide the chips completely but you can fill the little dinks and make it look better from a few feet away. One of the main reasons that stone chips look bad is because they break up the smooth surface of the otherwise highly light reflective bonnet - if you can smooth it out again it is surprising how much better it will look.
Only a temporary solution of course but might just stave off the respray for a few more months.

Quite a lot of other 'scratch removal' stuff there as well - I don't like anything that 'cuts' the paint but the colour coded stuff does do a pretty decent job of covering swirls and so on.

...but next month she's getting Zymol'd!

I've got an Arctic silver C4, and the Wicked Wheels boys did a scuff between the size of a 5p and a 10p on my front bumper. Absolutely invisable. I have a couple of other bits on the back that looks like the previous owner has touched them up with a paint stick. As soon as I've got some dosh, I'll be getting the boys back to sort them out...
