Hello all.

I recently purchased a 1999 model R1 with 4700 genuine miles. Bike is mint.
The day before picking it up i called the insurance company to get it insured.

I am 23 in July with 1 years no claims bonus.
The bike is insured 3rd party fire and theft.
Kept in a brick built garage.
DataTool System 3 alarm fitted.
Insured at a postcode with a reasonably low crime / theft rate.
Will be used on the odd sunny day to get to work.
Its worth about £4k.

Anyone care to venture a guess??

The winner may get a prize!

£1700? Did you have to shop around, or get any refusals?

You probably wont believe this but...........

£250!!!!!

I questioned their quote. The lady asked her supervisor to check it too.
I asked for written confirmation which i am now in receipt of!!

That is cheaper then my R6's i have insured in the past!

There computer must have been a bit sick that day. I am not complaining though!
Its a done deal now!

P.s It is with Carol Nash.

obviously their computer wasn't protected against the millenium bug and that why your quote is missing a 0 of the end

Yeah, Dennis is right - his Thunderace has the same lump as your R1, so should be almost as fast along the straights, but your R1 has far more chance of getting around the corner at the end of the straight, so your insurance should be cheaper

hehehe
