Griffith 4.3bv

Hi,

I have just become the proud owner of a Griff 4.3bv and wondered if anyone can enlighten me with some information as follows:

How many 4.3bv Griffs were made.
Where is the best place to access further information on the Griff 4.3bv

Not many genuine factory BV's exist , so a rare find and hope you enjoy it

PS Is it a genuine factory BV because many (mine included are not)!

Rob, if yours is a BV, that would explain the 500 cam I think. I'm sure I read (Chim forum I think) that the 4.0HC, and the 4.3BV were fitted with the 500 spec cam. The 500 is after all a 5 ltr BV.

Looking at your profile pic I notice your dash top is a different colour to the centre consul etc........

Did you dye this yourself?

If yes pls explain what you used and if your happy with the finish?

Yes - aerosol leather dye from Frosts: www.frost.co.uk/ product code U220BK

Results are incredible (though I say so myself), although I did polish with Kiwi shoe polish and feed with leather treatment. Really does look like it came off a black cow. All in the preparation though (prep kit is available from Frosts too).
I'm planning to swap the dash out for my original (retrimmed) in the future - would you be interesed in the black dash when I do?

Hi all and thanks for your replies although did go off at a tangent somewhat towards the end.
What I found out was that only 4 x 4.3bv ZGriffs were ever factory produced although there were others done as upgrades elswhere. And the good news is I have one of the 4 so I am a happy man

Yes its the green one recently advertised.

How did I find out? Spoke to TVR Power plus the factory at Blackpool who informed me four of the 4.3bv's produced and ten of the 4.5bv's. I originally thought it was the other way round but hey who am I to know.

Green cows are common. You just can't see them because they hide in the grass.

This information is also given in Roger Shakelton's book. Of the four, I believe ten are owned or previously been owned by PHers!

Ah well, mine is a bona-fide original factory 4.3BV (I have the provenance), so if there are 4 then i'm happy!
