Bit of help needed with my laptop...
I bought a second hand ThinkPad T40 recently and all was going well until I installed XP Pro and inadvertently wiped off all the drivers (I know, I shouldn't have done that!)
Anyway, I reinstalled them from the IBM site and all seemed to be going OK until my wireless setup wouldn't let the laptop connect.
I run a Linksys router, hard-wired into the desktop PC and use the built in wireless network card in the IBM. The laptop will no connect to the wireless router even though it can see it. I have tried taking all the security off the router, but it will still not assign an IP address to the laptop.
I tried reinstalling the latest driver for the wireless card, but for some reason the USB port will now not recognise my USB memory key (or in fact anything I put in the USB ports, ie. digital camera) and I was using this method to transfer drivers.
I'm a tad stuck now, so any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers

i forgot to mention - as to what specifically caused the problem - I'm guessing that you might be running Access Connections on teh machine, and if so, there's specific versions of the wireless drivers to install, depending on the version of AC you are running.
For the latest version of AC (4.12) the driver versions you need are here:

Thanks for the offer - I've actually got the systems discs - this is what caused my problems in the first place!
I have decided to bite the bullet and get a professional on the case, as I think my tinkering seems to be confounding the issues! Got a local chap popping round tomorrow to have a look see.
If I don't have any luck, I may well drop you a line to see if the discs you have do something that mine won't!
Thanks again for the offer
