Chaps,
A friend of mine owns a 928, and it has an intermittant fault. He has tried various things, all to no avail. It appears that there is only an intermittant injector signal being output from the ECU, and he suspects the ECU is faulty. He has had it checked by a specialist, who says it is OK, but having tested a number of other things, he is (justifiably) still suspicious about the ECU.
The car is a 1984/5 928 auto S2, with the following part numbers on the ECU:
Bosch 0 208 002 501
Porsche 928 618 123 00
What would be particularly helpful would be to borrow someone else's ECU, fit it to the car and see whether this solves the problem. Does anyone have one of these which they would be willing to lend? I know this is a big ask, but it would be greatly appreciated! Ideally, a spare one you have knocking around ...
If you weren't happy to lend your ECU, an alternative would be to ask you to check the suspect ECU in your car, to see whether you get the same symptoms as we are observing. This would be just as helpful.
FWIW, the car is located a little way outside Guildford in Surrey.

John Speake specialises in 928 ECU diagnostics and repair and usually has some units spare. If you drop a line to the 928 org mail list with the question I'm sure he would be able to help. The website can be found at 928.org.uk and there is a link to join the mail list. Its a great way to source 928 info.
