How is the 996 engine accessed for servicing?

...was wondering how the oily bits of the engine are accessed for routine/ non-routine servicing? From the engine bay, it doesn't seem that much can be reached, so that leaves under the car?

What procedures would the engine have to be removed for?

you can do cam covers and rear main with the engine in place all from underneath.

unless its a tiptronic then its easier to remove the engine for rear main.

...thanks for the reply! My car's a tiptronic - so what about routine changing oil, filter, spark plugs etc.? I assume from underneath?

yes everything from underneath...fairly straight forward..

Apparently you can't do the oil/air breather from underneath in a tip so my engine has to come out just to fix a minor leak.
