OK, so i've had my M12 for around 2 months now. Full factory history (used to belong to Blot).

Several faults which it is booked in to have looked at on Wednesday..

Gear shift is the sloppiest i have ever known - Normal??

Air con idle up does not idle up. More like air con engine stall - Normal??

Top bracket on exhaust broke - I know thats normal!

Louder than expected constant whirring from water pump. Maybe need new water pump.

Ticking noise from engine at idle, suspect head to manifold gasket. Blot had one manifold replaced in Feb. so could be warranty :-)

Smell of fuel after filling up - seems normal from threads on the forum.

Drive belt starting to squeal - no big deal, just get it replaced.

Other than that i'm totally smitten - what a car!

Nope - needs fixing or upgrading to M400 linkage

Could be the manifold??

yes mine does this too. I think the smell is coming up the tunnel and in through the fuse box. Can't be 100% sure yet though until I get it up on a ramp and stripped

try somesilicone spray on the belt. it's right under an engine bay vent and gets wet. The pullies rust up slightly causing the noise

5 speed needs adjustment semi regularly which will improve things, but it could never be called 'precise'. M400 linkage improves things, but if you are firm with the 5 speed it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Common problem, easily solved.

Could be drive belt, ensure they check adjustment and lubrication (keep a can of silicone lub handy, a minute squirt on the drive belts solves all sort of squeaks.

Unless it's there on higher revs likely to be lower down the exhaust system, but get it checked out.

TADTS. You can try adjusting (tightening) the gromit on the cap to see if it helps.

Si lube or replace.

My gear shift was sloppy and was like it since I brought it in Nov. When I took it to Plans the first thing they did was remove the Alcantara gear cover and tighten up the loose bolts.

Made a big difference.
