This looks a bit of a bargain and is making me itch. Any thoughts?

Very good deal I think. Possibly due to 16" wheels.
Low mileage for an '02 car too.
They should have cleaned the carpet before taking the photo though.
No idea what an "ali pack" is. Mine's a 2002 51-plate and has alloy switches throughout.
Cheers..... Andrew

They've got it down in the Unprepared Used cars section of their website, which probably explains the dirty interior. Still, seems a fantastic price - I'm not sure you'd get a private one at that price, and comes with a 3 month warranty....

scary (if previous owner), if you think how much it must have been traded in for?!?!?!

Very tempting though, nice colour/spec

Add CIRCA £1k for 18inch wheels and tyres, and £2200+VAT for a head rebuild if it goes wrong outside of 3 months and you have a £20k + car...

Is it so cheap now?

You're joking - where?

Can't really see the point in a 3 month warranty, unless of course you only plan to own the car for 3 months. I suppose any quibbles you have initially may get sorted if you happen to live anywhere near the dealer.

Other thoughts - the roll cage looks a bit funny - and what the hell is an ali pack?

Does't the fact that it has a roll cage fitted suggest its beeen raced on the track which may detract from the value?

Roll cage raised a question with me. Personal thought would be that the previous owner was either a very safety concious driver, or someone who like doing a lot of track days. Either way it is reflecting in the price.

But would need to consider, £1k for 18inch wheels, does it need a service (as unprepared will not be covered by the dealer), is it a flat solid black or a nice metallic black, has it has an engine rebuild? If it has been tracked a lot and is an early 2002 engine in its original state the odds are that a re-build may not be far away. May not be a deciding factor but go in with your eyes open and ability to pay for this if it happens.

But may be a sorted car after saying all this. As with all these things decide on condition, condition and condition. Fernhurst are a good bunch so have a look at the "detailed workshop report" and take it from there.

Seems strange to sell an unprepared car anyway.
Surely any garage would make more money on the sale than the spend preparing it.
Unless of course it's got some serious problems but in which case why do they have it at all?

I would recommend Fernhurst. However I think they would tell you themselves that they buy hard and they definitely know how to sell. I doubt that its a total bargain - probably a fair price for what it is - maybe they foresee a possible mechanical bill before long. From experience I expect they will be very open with you if you are interested in the car. Sounds worth a look (tempted myself!).

Prepping it surely just meean a quick check over an a clean - does seem odd.
