Hi, I'm after some advice/info.

I have had an idea for a 'different' kind of sports car bubbling away in my mind for a couple of years now, and have finally decided to do some proper drawings.

The main thing I need to get started though is a detailed drawing of a typical sports bike engine (doesn't have to be any specific one at this stage) for packaging purposes. I have trauled the net putting every combination of 'motorcycle engine dimensions' in I can think of but haven't had any luck.

I was wondering if anybody else had found a source of this information as it must be available somewhere for kitcar builders, sidecar racers etc.

Any thoughts anyone?

Another solution I have used in the past, if you know which engine you are hoping to use, is to buy yourself a 'Tamiya' model kit of the bike in question. The accuracy of the engines is remarkable good - certainly good enough to allow design of the engine bay - and, of course, it makes it easy to create a 3-d balsa model of the chassis to make sure everything fits.

Have a look at the dp1 on www.dpcars.net .
I think Dennis has stated that he is happy to share his cad files with like minded enthusiasts.
